China Doll Pruning

Question
My China Doll plant was wind damaged. Now it looks like it's dying. Can I trim this down like you do tulips etc. and have it come back or not?

Answer
Hi Shimmie,

China dolls can be pruned back to almost any height, although not right to the ground, and their stems will generate new growth just below the point of the cut. This will work as long as the roots and stems are healthy.

The regenerated growth may not be as symmetrical as it was originally, but it should be healthy.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
