China doll


Question
I kind of jumped on the train with your last answer re. china dolls.  Mine keeps getting taller.  I have it in the most protected sun spot I have.  May have to get a plant light.  I wanted to trim it, but when I saw your comment on pruning, I knew I could do that.  Very impressed.  Went to make a comment & couldn't find out how.  
I used to have a purple velvet plant many years ago.  Are they still available & where?  I am in Northern CA.

The Gynura aurantiaca was once commonly available, but for some reason that is no longer so. They show up sporadically at retailers such as Home Depot. I did a search and did find a link that may help you:
