which houseplants are best for producing oxygen or are they all about the same?

Hi there,

All plants produce more oxygen than they use within any 24-hour period. In general, the amount of oxygen produced increases with the size and leaf surface of the plant. Thus, a plant with many larger leaves will produce more oxygen than one with a few small leaves.

Another important factor is the health and growth rate of the plant with healthy, vigorously growing plants producing more oxygen. Consequently, when selecting plants for your home, it is more important to select a plant that is matched to the available light so the plant will remain healthy.
