POTTED PALM TREE?

Question
HI-
I RECENTLY RECEIVED A PLANT, BUT NOT SURE WHAT IT IS. PAST OWNER TOLD ME IT'S A KIND OF A PALM TREE. BUT IT LOOKS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN A TYPICAL PALM. IT HAS LONG AND HANGING STEMS WITH ALMOST FINGER LIKE LEAVES WITH ABOUT 6-8 "FINGERS" AND MAIN STEM IS ALMOST BARK LIKE. SO, WHAT IN THE WORLD COULD IT BE? ALSO, I NOTICED THAT SOME OLDER LEAVES ARE BEGGING TO YELLOW AT THE ENDS OR TIPS FIRST AND EVENTUALLY THE WHOLE LEAF AND STEM, BUT THE YOUNG LEAVES ARE COMING IN STRONG. ANY IDEA OR SUGGESTIONS ON THE CARE OR TREATMENT, OR DIAGNOSIS? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

Answer
Joe,

It sounds like a schefflera. Go here and look at pictures and let me know if i am right:

Yelloow leaves are either not enough sun or too much or too little water.

If it is a scheff I will send you care info. If it is not I need you to email me a picture to [email protected]
Also let me know what direction the window it is by faces and how often you are watering it.
