Chenille plant

Question
hihi

thanks for the reply..  I did purchased a garden fungicide spray.. but it did not say if it is okay for the indoor flowers.

When using the spray, should I just spray the upper leaves or both sides of the leaves... as well as the stem?

I did cut all the infected leaves and i still need to spray fungicide on the good leaves?

what is the best time to mist the leaves... before sunshine.. my window is facing east.. so i get sun around 730 to 12 pm.  so.. please let me know what time is the best to mist the leaves.

Thanks

Question -
hihi

I have another problem with the chenille plant..

I just realized that the leaves are turning yellowish, very dull, and it looks like Downy mildew (leave disease) and my friend who works at a flowership, he told me to cut off all the affected leaves and get a spray for fungus or virus... half of the leaves were affected just the new leaves aren't.. now.. i konw that the plant likes to be mist... and i mist it around 2 pm.. or before i leave the office... is the misting time inccorrect and that's the outcome of Downy mildew?  is the plant still alive or rescuable? and those buttom leaves will grow back?  Please let me know..

Also, in the middle of the red tail fox is burned out.. like dark spot and other places are pale red.. is it normal?

Please let me know as soon as you can thanks

Question -
hihi,

HOw are you?  i have bought a chenille plant about 2 weeks ago.  The lady told me that it needs full sun.  So i have placed the flower facing east side (direct sun)... i think i overwatered a bit so.. i let the soil dry... then.. a week ago i realized that one of the leaves is starting to turn yellow... so.. i quickly surf the net regarding Chenille and it said that the plant needs inidrect sun.. so i replaced the plant and i decided to repot the flower from 6" pot to an 8" pot.  Now, i'm not sure if i should fertilize the plant when the soil is dry or fertizlize it after i watered it?  Can i fertilize it now.. or i have to wait 3 months later then fertilize...

Another question is that i accidently knocked of 3 fox tails from the stem while i was repotting the plant.. will the fox tail grow back from the same place.. or?

Please let me know as soon as you can thanks

Amy

Fertlize when you water. If the soil you potted it in has fertlizer added...wait about 2 months to start fertlizing.  It will take at least that long for most of it to be gone.  You do not want to over fertlize.

I am not sure of the fox tail thing.  I would think it would grow back.

Here is a link that may help you.  http://annstropics.com/Descriptions/Acalypha_hispida-Chenille_Plant.html

I would take off the affected leaves and spray with an antifungal.  It may look terrible for a bit but it should recover.  I would mist it first thing in the morning...this will give it all day to dry so that the leaves will not bed wet thru the night.  This promotes mildew.

Answer
Yes, spray all surfaces of the plant...just because it is not showing any signs of mildew does not mean it does not have it.  The problem may just be undectectable right now.

I would mist in the morning so that the plant has the whole day to dry.  So just as early as you want to or that is convienent for you.

Enjoy
