How to care for Rubber and Schefflera/Umbrella Trees

Question
I need any and all info you can give me on the care of rubber plants and scheffelear plants. (I am unsure of that spelling)

Answer
Dear Dawn,
I have found this question in a question pool, and it should not have been their, it is a very easy question. So, I am sorry for the wait. I want you to know it's not my fault.

Answer:

Rubber Plant:

Light Needed: Place in bright light, indirectly lit south, east, or west window.

Water: Let plant approach dryness before watering, but water thoroughly and discard drainage.

Humidity: Average indoor levels.

Fertilization: Fertilize all year, but more heavily in summer.

Propagation: Take cuttings from stems or shoots before they have hardened or matured.

Grooming: Prune to a tree form as the plant matures. Keep as desired height or shape with light pruning or clipping at any time.

Repotting: Repot in winter or early spring, as needed. Infrequent repotting is best.

Umbrella Trees:

Light: Place in bright but indirect light from a south, east, or west window.

Water: Let plant approach dryness before watering, but water thoroughly and discard drainage.

Humidity: Average indoor levels.

Fertilization: Fertilize only during late spring and summer.

Propagation: Take stem cutting any time. Seeds are available, but can be more difficult to use.

Grooming: Give this plant plenty of room. Pick off yellowed leaves.

Repotting: Infrequent repotting is best.

  Sincerely,
  Sam

P.S., Don't forget to rate me on my answer. And happy planting.
