BABY SPIDER PLANT ROOTS.

Question
WHY ARE THE ROOTS OF THE BABY OFF SHOOTS OF MY SPIDER PLANT TURING BLACK?
IT IS IN A SUNNY WINDOW. I HAVE WELL WATER BUT IM NOT SURE IF ITS HARD WATER.

Answer
Hi Rachel,
If you have well water then it is probably hard water. I would recommend that you use distilled water for your plants.
If the roots are getting mushy as well as black then they are rotten. Remove them to keep it from spreading to the mother plant.
If the roots are still crisp and have nothing else going on except the color then it is likely that the discoloration is just part of natural aging.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
