Philodendron fungus

Question
I have a philodendron plant with white fungus on it.  It seems to be spreading to my other plants.  It there anything I can do or do I have to dispose of all my plants?  I believe I have the proper lighting and they are not being over-watered.

Answer
Hi Tom,

Other things, such as mealybugs, perlite, and soil salt deposits are often mistaken for fungus. I need to be sure what it is you are seeing, so please provide a better description.

Are you finding it in the soil, on the leaves, or on the stems? Does it look like tiny bits of cotton? Is it in patches or small pieces. Is it hard or soft when you squeeze it?

A clear photo sent to me at [email protected] would be very helpful.

Regards,
Will Creed
