Pachira propagation

Question
Hi Will,

Can Pachiras be propagated by rooting tissue as small as a single leaflet? If not, how much of the plant do I need to start?

Thank you,
Niki

Answer
Hi Niki,

You cannot propagate a Pachira from a leaf-stem cutting, only from a stem cutting that includes one or two nodes (bumps on the main stem where the leaf stems attach to it) that can be inserted into most potting mix. Typically, that means a stem tip cutting that is several inches long.
