plant pests (look like a centipeede)

Question
I have a palm plant, kept indoors all winter with light.  Now there are little brown bugs that look like a centipeed.

Answer
Hi Kinsella,

If the centipedes are in the soil, then plunge the pot up to its rim in a tub filled with water. Leave it for about 30 minutes. This will flood the soil and drive the critters up and out of the soil in search of air. That usually does the trick, although sometimes a repeat treatment is necessary.
