Answer
Debbie,

It is mold. You are keeping your plant too wet, you may have some root rot. You need to dry oyour plants out and spry the surface of the soil with Lysol spray. Make sure you do not leave water standing in the drain tray after watering your plants and do not water them again until the surface of the soil feels dry and the plant feels lighter when you pick it up. Next time you repot your plants, not before April 15th add extra perlite to the potting soil at a ratio of 1 part perlite to 2 parts pottting soil. Only repot if the  plant is really rootbound and only move a plant to a pot that has a dimeter 2 inches larger than the old pot, no larger than 2 inches larger. The extra perlite will stop you from getting mold again. The Lysol will prevent it right now. Good luck.
