Lady Palm Cane regrowth

Question
I purchased a Lady Palm that was pretty sick and have managed to get 3 of its 6 canes healthy and growing again. I'm wondering what to do about the other canes? Should I dig them out or will they start to regrow at some point down the road?

Answer
Congratulations on reviving part of your palm!  I wonder if you have cut the other canes to see if they are still alive?  I would cut off a small part and if they are dead then dig them out.  If they are not then there is a chance they will grow at some stage.  I would imagine if they have not grown whilst others have that they must be dead.  I expect you know that palms like to have their fronds misted during the warm months as they dislike dry air and should be out of direct sunlight.  Only repot when it is obvious that the plant is completely pot bound, before you water the plant tap the bottom of the pot so that the plant can be removed easily, if the roots are visible curling round the pot with very little earth showing then you know it is time to repot it.  Good luck!
