minature pepper plant

Question
i have a minature pepper plant that has red, green, purple and yellow peppers on it.  can i put it outside and can i bring it indoors for the winter

Answer
Norma,

Yes, your pepper would love it outside for the summer in the sunniest location possible.  When the temperatures start dropping below 50 degrees at night you need to bring it in and put it in a sunny location in the house. In the winter do not overwater it, let it dry out before watering it again. Remove the red peppers, they are ripe and it will stop producing if you leave them on the plant.  They are edible although they are very very hot. I have one plant that is at least 4 years old and produces lots of peppers each year. The more sun it gets during the winter the more likely you are to be able to keep it alive. Good luck.
