the leaves on my palm tree are shredding and I do'nt know why and do'nt know what to do about it

I know of no insect that shreds palm leaves. Is this an outdoor palm or a potted palm indoors? Indoors it could be a pet cat playing with it or it may be someone catching them in the vacuum sweeper pipe. Those are my best guesses. If you see other signs of insect damage and this is definitely an indoor tree. Good luck.
