Those 2 plants do not like to freeze. If they get frozen they will die back to the ground but may com up again from the roots. I am pretty sure ficus would not have a problem unless temperatures were below freezing for more than 2 days. Schefflera are generally small enough to cover if it gets below freezing overnight. Both plants love full sun. Good luck!
