Im a young, 25 year old male,...

Question
I'm a young, 25 year old male, looking to find ways to cope with GAD and stress management. I take atenol for high blood pressure and looking to maybe add ginseng to my diet.  I tried it in the past which gave me alot of energy, but stopped due to warnings that it may elevate blood pressure.  Are there any Ginsengs out there that DONOT elevate bp?  Also, I am now trying acupuncture for anxiety, 2 visits with no results yet.  Whats your take on this?  Any other suggestions to help with GAD and related muscle tension would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance

Answer
Hello John -

You were smart to stop taking the Ginseng - it can have over time reacted with the Atenol.

For energy try a Bee Pollen Complex supplement. Make sure it contains Bee Propolis, Royal Jelly and Bee Pollen. This will have the same action as the Ginseng but will not interact with your medications.

Acupuncture will help - give it a little time - be sure to fully relax your body when this is being administered. The less stressed you are going into an Acupuncture session the better of you will be for the Acupuncture technique to work well with your body system.

Try drinking a cup of Chamomile and Lavender Tea in place of coffee and other caffeine drinks. Caffeine will speed up the system and will encourage anxiety. I make a great tea blend called "Stress Relief" that works very well and has a wonderful soothing sweet flavor. Many of my clients take this blend and have had great results - this tea blend will not interfere with the Atenol.

Try also keeping a small vile of Lavender Oil handy, when you feel stressed inhale the aroma and will help calm you down.

One of the best remedies for GAD is Bach's Rescue Remedy. You can puchase this from any health food store. Anytime you feel stressed, worried or overwhelmed, drop about 4 drops under your tongue and it will help you calm down. This can be taken with Atenol and really does work very very well for humans and animals.

I hope this information has helped you. Feel free to contact me anytime, I would be happy to host an email consultation with you if you were interested.
