Basil, marjoram

Question
Hi,

I wanted to know whether I can plant basil and marjoram in the same pot together.

Thanks,
Manjit

Answer
Manjit:
Yes! they may be planted together with some restrictions. The pot shpould be at least 18" or more deep. Basil needs the room to grow well. Both need morning sun first. Basil needs to be watered every 3 days or less depending on rainfall. Both need pruning 1/3 off every branch every 3 weeks or as needed. Pruning will keep them healthy and produce more leaf production. Feed with organic fertilizer every 3 weeks. Prune off flowers when they appear. Basil will be the first plant to die when temps drop below 60 for any length of time. Marjoram will go thru a light frost or longer.
Good luck.
