Question
What can be done to help lavender and rosemary? What kind of soil do they need? How should I prepare the soil they're planted in? What kind of fertilizer do they need? The soil here is mostly clay. We live in Tennessee,in zone 7.

Annette:
You can help yours clay soil by adding a mineral call "greensand". It is sold at the farmer's supply store or some seed supply stores. Work into  soil.Also start with organic fertilizers, liquid fish and or liquid fish/seaweed. Follow instructions on containers. Also add 1 cupful of lime for each plant.
