lavender and chamomile

Question
I am interested in putting lavender and chamomile flowers around my home. I have a two year old that will be helping me take care of the plants.  Can you tell me how safe both of these are?  I've read that lavender oil is posionous.  Is this something we'd be coming in contact with in everday care of the lavender plant?

Thank You,

Christina Odum

Answer
Hello Christina -

Lavender and Chamomile plants are 100% safe to garden with children.

Lavender Oil CAN be poisonous only if ingested in its purest form. A little on your skin from the plant would not harm you at all, in fact it would be beneficial.

These two herbs are wonderful garden varities and children love to help plant them because of their great aroma. You have nothing to worry about, enjoy your planting and enjoy the time spent with your child.

I hope this information has help you.
