Dwarf conifer in container

Question
I moved a dwarf conifer from a small tub to a larger container a few months ago and I have 2 questions about it:
1.what do you think is the reason for parts of it turning brown ?
2.why has green moss started to develop on the surface ?
Regards

Answer
moss is a sign of wet soil & too acidic soil. also low light. allow the plant to dry sufficienty before watering again (in a container about once every 5-14 days depending on rain, sun light, and other factors). add granular lime to the surface of the soil to sweeten the soil(raise the pH). check the plant for spider mites especially if it is a dwf alberta spruce.
