Three Container Plants

Question
I have a Corn Plant, and a Prayer plant.  Could you tell me why my Prayer Plant is drooping?  Is it supposed to?  Also my corn plant is slowing killing its leaves from the bottom up.  Is this Normal.  The plant is not dying its just slowing turning its leaves brown.

Also, I have an unidentified plant, I will do my best to describe it, (I do have a picture but I do not know how to send it) anyways its leaves are pear shaped with lighter color in the middle.  The plant has cane shaped stems and it droops.  There are about three plants per stem.  I have no Idea what it is.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
The things to learn when caring for your beautiful plants and keeping them beautiful, is simply WATER, SOIL, and LIGHT. Humidity, and temperature are also important, but I don't think that is the problem you are experiencing. I would start by looking at the light first. Can you read easily by the daylight that your plants receive?
Now look at your soil. Remember that is what is feeding and keeping the roots healthy. Are the roots crowded in the bottom of the container? This can keep the water from working its way through the soil and getting it wet enough. Or is the container too large for the plant? This can cause the plant to droop from lack of water around the roots, because the water is directed to the edge of the container, and away from the plant, leaving the roots dry. And that brings us to watering. The best method of watering is get the soil as thoroughly wet as you can, then let the soil dry. This allows the roots to take in the moisture, and then take in the oxygen as the soil replaces the moisture with air. The plant needs both air and water. If the soil is never allowed to dry the plant drowns, if it is too dry, it wilts. This is where your care methods needs to be fine tuned. You want to learn to "read" what your plants need, by checking the soil, the finger method works best, and looking for signs that the plants need care. Leaves turning yellow or brown, brown edges, drooping, or turning gray-green. All signs the plant is stressed. Go through the simple check list I have just mentioned and look for the problem, then look for a way to correct it.

Prayer plant leaves spread out, but should not droop. Corn plant leaves when they age will die from the bottom up, but only once in a great while, not several at a time or continually.
I am not sure what your unidentified plant is because the description is similar to several plants. I was thinking of the   Dieffenbachia because of the canes and the leaf color.
