What kind of Nepenthes do I have?

Question

Nepenthes
Hello!

I recently bought a Nepenthes but I don't know what kind it is.  One point is suffered root rot but seems to be getting better.  The only thing I'm asking is how much water should it have and how often should it be watered?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Justin,

Since it has no pitchers an educated guess is the best I can do.  From the leaves I would say Nepenthes ventricosa.

Water Nepenthes a bit like regular houseplants.  They should not sit in water the way you would do with bog varieties of cp, but do like their soil moist.  Once a week is usually fine, but it may be a bit more often in the summer.  An easy method with a small plant is to put it over the sink and water it liberally, then set it back in it's dish or tray.  A little water will run off into its tray, and that's fine.  When the media starts feeling dry to the touch, water it again.

Good Growing!
