lance sundew: whats happening

Question

lance leaf sundew
Hi allexperts,

I have a lance sundew that looks like it is dying.  I have it under some artificial lights for 12 hours a day.  I did have it in a terriaum. After I read how bad that was I have begun to ease it from there death box.   I have attach a photo of the plant.  Is anything I can do to save it.

Sincerely,

Weylin Callery

Answer
Hi Weylin,

Your plant as a whole isn't dying per se.  What's happening is that one of the shoots is simply dying back.  This sometimes happens when there is a sudden change in the environment.  The other shoot looks perfectly healthy with green dewy leaves.  I also see another shoot coming up.  So your plant is doing fine.  Cut off the dying shoot near the soil line and remove all dead material.  Within a few months, the plant will fill the pot with new shoots.

Good growing!
