Transplanting my purple pitcher plant

Question
Hi,

My growing zone is 7, and I live in Walnut Cove, NC. U just need to know if it's too late for me to move my sarracenia purpurea venosa to a different portion of the bog. It's already in the process of developing a flower bud. If moving it would only shock or hurt it I'd rather wait until next spring. I'd greatly appreciate your inisght on the matter.

Thanks,

Daniel Bunton

Answer
It's not at all too late.  It's still early in the growing season, and your plant will have lots of time to reestablish in the new location before the onset of winter.  However, cut off the flower bud so your plant can redirect its energy in leaf and root development.

Good growing!
