Answer
No, the Culligan inline filter you are considering will probably not help to make the water more suitable for carnivorous plants. This filter is designed to capture sediment and fairly large particles, but will not reduce the minerals and salts that are already dissolved in the water, and it is that soluble material that will slowly poison and often kill Venus Flytraps and other carnivorous plants.

The only effective filter for carnivorous plants is a reverse-osmosis membrane and unit, which can remove almost all of the TDS (total dissolved solids) in tap or well water. Other than reverse osmosis (often abbreviated to just RO), distilled water and collected rain water are about the only alternatives.

However, Some people live in places where the tap water is naturally low in TDS, but those places are rare. The best way to find out whether your tap or well water is safe is to buy a TDS meter (The HM Digital TDS-EZ is inexpensive, often less than $20.00 in the U.S.) and test it, which is a quick and simple process.

Best wishes and good luck.
