ph 8.4

Question
How do I lower the ph in my 7000 gal pond.I have well water but the ph is naturally very high. Having an awful time this year with green water even with my uv and biological filter.
I am hoping that if I lower the ph, it will help.
Thanks,
Joe

Answer
Hi Joe,
To lower your PH you need to add Calcium carbonate (CaC03) you will have to ask the supplier the amount to add,
Your green water, if your UV bulb is over a year old it will not be working if it was working and was a big enough wattage for the size of your pond you would NOT have green water, also check the sleeve which is around the uv bulb because they can get limescale on them so the uv can not work on the water passing through.
