stratification of pitcher plant seeds

Question
I currently have some S. leucophylla, S. purpurea, and Venosa burkii seeds. What length of time should the pitcher plant seeds be stratified before I plant them?

Thank you for your time and attention with my inquiry!

Kind regards,

Derick S Coots (Zone 5b)

Answer
Hi Derick,

Usually 6 weeks, to 2 months is about right.  They need a combination of cool and damp to break down an enzyme in the seeds that will allow them to germinate.

Good Growing!
