stopping flowering

Question
the plants keep flowering
the plants keep flower
how do i stop my spoonleaf sundew from flowering  they are under 40 watt shoplights and is on for 16 hours because of my forkleaf and i don't want it to go dormant and how long does it take for the seeds to be ready after the stock has opened the flower

Answer
There's really nothing you can do to make the plant stop flowering other than dropping the light cycle to 11-12 hours per day.  The plant thinks it's in peak summer, so that's when they produce as many flower stalks as possible.  For now, you simply have to cut them off as the occur.  Do this weekly.

To collect seeds, you'll need to wait until the flower stalk dries up.  The flowers open up from the bottom to the top.  Typically seeds will be ready a couple weeks after the last flower opens up.

Good Growing!
