Nepenthes Mirabilis

Question
Mirabilis
Mirabilis
Hallo,
I just got my Nepenthes Mirabilis. I wanted to ask which part of the plant sould be in the soil. All the brown one or only the roots and a bit more?
Thank you

Answer
Hi Sed,

Pot it up about 4cm give or take, up the stem.  Make sure the roots are fully under the media.  I can tell this plant was rooted from a long piece.  It will probably send out side shoots over time.

On a side note, this plant reminds me of the first Nepenthes I ever owned.  It was a little rooted cutting similar to yours that I got from the infamous Peter Pauls Nursery in New York.  Even though they are scrappy looking little things, they are vigorous growers, root easily, and are not fussy about soil.  Being a lowlander, they do prefer higher humidity and warm temperatures.  My mother grew these for several years in a large terrarium with fluorescent lights.

Good Growing!
