pinguicula Aphrodite problem

Allexperts,

I got this Pinguicula Aphrodite a few years ago.  The Pinguicula Aphrodite  like it about to die out various leaves have begun to die at an alarming rate.   I look at the root system of the plant. The root system does look  good.  The plant had about 1 main root and the appeared to be black.   I have the a picture of the plant.  If Need anything else please let me know.

Grow Inforamation
Soil =peat + perlite , vermiculite
Water= Distilled water
lights= 40 watt tubes.

Hi Weylin,

Pinguicula roots are supposed to be white and rather succulent looking.  Chances are you're having some root rot.  Try keeping the plant a bit drier; only water when the tray is dry.  Also, top water the plant frequently.  They like the circulation and aeration.  My biggest, most beautiful Aphrodite is mounted in a rock in a table top water fountain.  They often occur is spring seeps in nature.  Just try not to let it sit in water for long periods.  This tends to be good advice for all Mexican butterworts.
