Question
I have a bananaplant in my front bedroom where it gets lots of lighti live in canada the plant has 4 leaves but the edges are getting brown and it start to get little white dots on the leaves  i water the plant once and give it a good soaking a new leave is starting to grow but it seems that the plant is stagnant the trunk feels kind a cold what to do?t

Answer
Hi Marcel,  In a pot in the greenhouse I water mine everyday, I am in Florida.  Mostly around the outside edge of the pot and then once in a while a drenching of the whole plant.  If it is a drying type look it is not enough water, if it is more black it is too much.  The white on the leaves sounds like aphids from growing it indoors.  You can spray it with an organic insecticidal soap or soapy dish water to clean the bugs off.   I think watering is the problem. If you have a water catch dish under it you must remove the water within 15 minutes after watering to prevent it from rotting. kathy
