Question
I live in zone 9, can I put my nepenthes outside or in a terrarium?

Answer
Hi Freeman,

It will depend some on where you live in California, but yes.  Since Zone 9 climates can see frost once in awhile, just protect your plant if the temperature drops down in the 30'sF.  If your plant is indoors now, start it off outside in a shaded area, then slowly over a week move it to an area where it gets partial sun.  If you put it right out in full sun it will get leaf burn.

What I've just outlined applies to highland and intermediate species and hybrids.  Lowlanders won't like it outdoor in winter.

Good Growing!
