Applying insecticide to recently divided Sarracenia rhizomes

Question
Hello,

How long should I wait to apply an insecticide on recently divided Sarracenia rhizomes? (I'm a little late dividing up mine.) Aphids have been a problem in past years. I watched Sarracenia Northwest's video on safely applying insecticides, and I plan to use Bayer Advanced 3-in-1. Located in western Washington

Thank you.

Answer
It won't harm your plants to spray them now.  Systemic insecticides are designed to have low phytotoxicity, so they are safe to use on plants.  After spraying your plants, clip off any flowers that come up this season.  This will prevent bees from being in contact with potentially contaminated pollen.

Good growing!
