Growing Heliamphora in a greenhouse

Question
I currently have two heliamphora species growing in a greenhouse with many drosera, pinguicula, and highland nepenthes. The two species are H. heterodoxa x minor and H. nutans. The humidity does seem to fluctuate during the day. I water all my plants with distilled water and they get the necessary amount of sunlight. The two things that are concerning, to me, are the high temperature in summer and the humidity fluctuation. I  have  fans at both ends of the greenhouse and I have a shade cloth that covers my greenhouse. What do you think of my growing conditions and think that I need to revise. i live in Salem Oregon, so my summer temps and humidity levels are probably pretty similar to what you get.

Answer
Hi Jarred,

What you have is very similar to our greenhouse, except ours have a Metal Halide light over them in winter.  If you're using shadecloth in summer and you've got good ventilation, don't worry about the humidity.  If your greenhouse is open in the summer the way our is, you still have more ambient humidity than you would if the plants were just outside, and the humidity spikes at night.  We find they do fine, but slow down growth when it gets hot.  Do lots of top-watering, filling pitchers during the summer.  Let water flush through their pots.  Both of the varieties you have are pretty easy, and not really fussy for the genus.

Good Growing!
