cactus transplant

Question
dear Greg,
i responded back to your follow up questions on 9/10. Do you need a closeup? Please respond. The cactus is now hitting the ceiling. We really didn't want to cut the main stem, but I don't think it will get 15hrs sunlight if moved. Please help!

Answer
Dear Andrea,

A close up would help me to identify it. If you are asking whether or not you can take a cutting, the answer is yes. But I need to know what type of cactus it is. If it is a Neoraimondia, they are extremely slow growing and take forever to root (if at all).

If it is a Cereus variety, they will take a cutiing very well. If you don't want to cut the plant, move it to the higher cieling area and suppliment the light with grow lights. If you can send a close up, make sure to get a close up of the spines. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Greg
