Pachypodium Saundersii

Question
My Pachypodium produced 4 seed pods. How do I plant the seeds. I've never grown anything successfully from seed. I live in Southwest Florida, Zone 10.

Answer
Julie,

They can be grown from seed, but wait until late spring to sow. Use a mixture of sand and soil in a large cookie sheet looking planter, with a layer of sand on top. Try to find a planter that has a clear top (to keep the humidity up). Make sure to also use a fungicide with them as well, so the won't have that issue. Also, after the germinate, water when dry (try not to disturb the seedlings) and no direct sun. Too much water will cause them to rot. Good luck!

Sincerely,

Greg
