I have a basket that want to add some colorful plants. Trailing from side to side. I want it to last till fall. It gets full shade. San Antonio,Tx. Heres my pic!! Go to  http:// commmunity.webshots.com/user/deb789
Answer -
Debbie,
I couldn't access your pictures so don't have that to refer to.  In full shade your options are somewhat limited - limited too to what your garden center has at this time of year.  (Some places are better at renewing their stock in the fall than others...)  Coleus has colorful foliage and will sort of cascade over the side of the container as will impatiens.  Both will last until hard frost.  There are several ivys with yellow and green leaves that are pretty bright and could combine with other plants to add another layer of color.  Many of these will live through the winter as well.   Also, some of the variegated houseplants such as Spider plant and Pothos do well outside in the shade and would add color and texture.
I hope this helps!

Answer
Debbie,
OK - got the basket picture now!  My answer is the same except if you use an upright coleus it will hide the handle.  - if your garden center has Cascade Impatiens (Fanfare series from Simply Beautiful) they will  work as will the yellow and green ivys and the spider plant.
all the best,
C.L.
