Type of Flower...

Question
I seen a beautiful hanging basket with flowers in it - I am trying to get the name of these flowers!
They looked like mini roses (but weren't roses) and they came in yellow, orange and pink. Any idea what type of flower this was?

Answer
Tracey,
Do a google image search of these two names, and see if either of these are what you saw: Portulaca grandiflora  or Ranunculus.

If neither of these are what you remember, tell me a bit more about the plant in general - how long were the stems?  Did they hang down a long ways in the basket or a short ways, or was the plant more upright or bushy?  Did you see it in the spring or summer, and what part of the country did you see it in?
If you don't think it was the two I suggested, give me more details and we'll see if I can figure it out.

all the best,
C.L.
