Question
Hi Nick,
  I have a corn like stalk plants that grow about 5 feet,with a beautiful smell that come from  white flower's that bloom. The stalk dies and then grows again. About 2 times a year. I have asked several people if they know what they are and not getting anywhere of course they are just friends and not plant experts.

Hi Nancy, it sounds like one of the many varieties of lilly's, but without seeing it, I couldn't tell you definitely. Most lillies develop from a bulb, which in colder climates is taken up and stored over the winter, and planted again in the spring. I wish I could see some pictures of it, then I would have a better idea. Nick
