Gerbera

Question
1.I am having gerbera plants in my garden.I brought them from nursery , they actually dig them out , then cut some of the root and the i planted them in the soil.the problem is for more then 2 month (summer time 35-40 degrees india )there leaves were like dying . Since the winter is started ,they are erecting good leaves but no  flowers.WHAT TO DO?

2.second is i use decomposed cowdung as fertiliser . I saw some termites close to these plants in soil . Are they danger to these plants or are they helpfull? In case they are damaging , what are the remedies.

Answer
It is important to amend the soil with organic matter such as compost and peat. The fact that you're adding is manure is also great for the soil. I would also apply a fertilizer high in phosphorus to stimulate blooming.

The termites will not eat vegetation. If any are in the manure, they will soon seek other places for food.

Good luck, and please write again if I can ever provide assistance.

Regards,

Mike
