My Camellias are dying

Question
I planted 4 camellias last summer.  The leaves are turning brown around the edges like they are burned. The first one in the row I planted started browning a few months ago.  Then the next one in line, now the third one is beginning to look brown. I don't see any parasites but that doesn't mean they aren't there.  What is wrong with them?  Can I save them?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
HI,How you doing? Its sounds like your camellias have winter burn from harsh winter and or wind burn. This is common with them and will be a easy fix.what you can do is go down to your garden center and get a fertilizer with a n/p/k # of 20/10/10 to 30/10/10 and read label and apply to soil. This will help green them up and promote new growth at a faster rate then organic fertilizers. They should be back and fine by late may. Then this late fall like december treat them and others with a anti-desicant to prevent this again.you can do this or have a certified arborist treat them in late fall.Thankyou!,Chad
