fruitless weeping mulberry tree

Question
Just a few days ago I notice my once beautiful young tree with yellow leaves and black spots on one half of the tree. I want to know what to do to save my tree.

Answer
Sounds like a leaf spot fungi but this late in the year the tree will soon start shutting down for the winter and controls are not needed. Rake the fallen leaves this winter and destroy them- this will cut down on the fungi spores that are on the leaves. Spray the foliage with a fungicide containing cooper next spring on the new leaves. This should prevent the fungi from entering the new leaf surface. This is not a serious problem and will not kill the tree.
