Parade Rose

Question
Hello. I have a Parade Rose plant that I keep indoors in a pot.  I recently have noticed that the leaves are disappearing.  It seems as they they are decaying.  My husband says that it may be black rot but I am just not sure. Help, my plant is slowly disappearing!  Is there anything that I can for this problem?  Thank you for all your help with this.

Answer
The disease is called black spot that you are referring to.  If the leaves have black circular spots with associated yellowing around the spot, then is is black spot, which is a fungal disease.  Being inside in a pot, I am not so sure it is black spot, but may be an environmental problem causing the leaves to fall off.  Make sure the plant is in full sun and is not overwatered.  Overwatering will cause the leaves to fall off and can cause root rot.  Daconil fungicide is an overall good protectant fungicide that you can use to help control any fungal diseases if you wish.  I hope this helps fix the problem.  Good Luck.
