Arborvitae damage

Question
During the recent snowstorms two large branches of this tree (over 20 feet tall) snapped. There is about a two foot section high in the tree where one of the limbs snapped lengthwise. Further up that limb there is still much growth. Can that limb recover or should it be taken out (it is in the center of the tree)?

Thank you

Answer
Depending on the size and the amount of breakage it may recover.  You can either wait and see if the limb dies or you just can not stand the bent look. Or go ahead and prune the limb off. Either way will work. The limb may never recover fully to its original growth pattern. Without seeing the tree and the break it is hard to give a definate answer.
