mold

Question
My apricot tree trunk has a white (looks like mold) all over it-I found the apricot themselves have black spots on them--can I save my dear tree?? Doc

Answer
Dr Edie:
This mold on the tree trunk may be superficial or an indication of decline. It would be helpful to see the tree in person, however can you send along a photo of the trunk area that has this white stuff on it? How do the leaves look? Do the branches have a lot of leaves on them?

In a separate message, you can include a closeup photo of the spotted fruit.  (I think you can send only one photo per message). Seeing a photo will be helpful rather than trying to guess.

Be sure to review your images on your computer before sending- to be sure they are in focus.

Steve
