Question
Their is a jelly type substance located on the trunk of my plum tree as well as some of the same on the limbs of the tree. What can I do to get rid of this problem.

Hi Larry,  You have borers in the tree.  Being organic the only thing I would do is get a sewing needle and pierce it into the spots with the jelly substance and it will kill the bug.  Being an edible plant I would not want to put poison into the tree and eat the fruit.  It really works well doing it this way.  kathy
