crown of thorns

Question
I have some sort of parasite growing in my crown of thorns. It looks like a mold with some sort of web like cluster, it is slowly spreading to all of my C.O.T. plants and killing them. I have had no issues until this year and really need to save the plants that are still alive. I have tried Bayer insect killer for flowers and roses along with Green Light with neem and still have had no luck. Please help if you can.  thanks

Answer
Jasen:
If this stuff is at the base of the stem, this may represent a root/stem type rot. Many of these diseases are associated with persistent wet soils. You can send a closeup photo that focuses on the affected area and I will be happy to look at it to try to determine what the issue is.

Thanks
Steve
