i have a white foam on my fig leaf and they looked like they are being eaten. could you tell me what it is and how to treat

Dear Katrina, It is hard to say exactly what is eating your fig tree, but I do have a simple solution to remedy it.  I am guessing that the white foam contains eggs or insects of some type.  You should spray the entire tree with NEEM which is an herbal botanical product that will kill mites, fungus and insects, and it is safe for use on fruit trees with fruit on them.  Spray heavily to the dripping point, and I would wait at least two days before eating any fruit.  Now generally speaking, fig trees are incredibly tough, and even if you do nothing, the tree will probably be fine, but this will get rid of any existing problems.  Good luck, Melissa
