Moles, voles or chipmunks?

Question
I live in Lafayette, IN  and am having a problem with an animal which is burrowing in the yards.  I don't know if it is moles, voles or chipmunks that are causing the problem.  There are long tunnels, raised about 2" and often holes of about 1 1/2" diameter.  There sre also areas of the grass that are turned over, as if from digging.  I have tried treating with Scoot Mole but have not had success.  Our cat catches a lot of small animals but we border a woods and there are plenty around.

Answer
The long tunnels that push up the turf are a classic sign of moles. As far as the holes are concerned. These could be collapsed portions of the mole tunnel or you could have another animal around. visit http://icwdm.org click on solutions and then animal damage identification. There will be help there on identifying the problem, including photos.

by the way, don't waste your time with repellents, including those silly thumpers and ultrasonic devices. There will be information on the site stated above on what works.
