indoor flying bugs

help! i have many house plants, some i take outside during summer, some are just to big to move. i seem to have alot of flying bugs in my house. they fly all around. fined them in windows,in bathroom,in door frames, and in the dirt of some of plants.have put out water traps[water and soap,sugar] it catches alot but their everywhere, pest are tiny and gray color, will fly around when your not even diturbing any plants. hope you can help.  thank you elaine

I would venture a guess that it is either aphids, mites, or flea beetles attacking the plants.  You can control any of these insects with insectidal soap, which can be purchased at most garden centers. You can also spray them with either rotenone or pyrethrum. Both of these products are organic, meaning they're non-toxic to humans, pets, and the environment. They are made from plant derivatives, and break down in the soil with no residual effects. They are extremely effective against each of the insects I have described.
